An-Najah National University proudly announces that the BASE Project has officially been awarded the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) Label — a distinguished recognition granted to pioneering regional projects that contribute to enhancing cooperation, innovation, and sustainable development across the Mediterranean region.
This milestone represents an international acknowledgment of An-Najah National University’s academic and research excellence, and stands as evidence of its ongoing commitment to advancing projects with tangible regional and global impact through international partnerships — particularly with the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM).
The recognition was formally confirmed through an official communication addressed to the Grants and Projects Center at An-Najah National University, reaffirming the university’s active role in leading joint research and development initiatives.
His Excellency Prof. Abdel Nasser Zeid, President of An-Najah National University, expressed his deep pride in this achievement, emphasizing that the BASE Project’s receipt of the UfM Label is a significant milestone that reflects the university’s leadership and excellence in international research projects.
He stated: “We are proud that An-Najah National University has become an active partner in regional projects recognized by prestigious international institutions such as the Union for the Mediterranean. This achievement strengthens the university’s position on the international academic map and demonstrates its ability to contribute to addressing developmental, educational, and environmental challenges in the region.”
He added:

Her Excellency Dr. Khairia Rasas, Vice President for International Partnerships and Global Initiatives, also affirmed that the UfM Label awarded to the BASE Project embodies the university’s vision to enhance its global presence and expand its network of international partnerships.
She said: “This recognition serves as a strong motivation to continue building bridges of academic and research cooperation with regional and international institutions. The UfM Label is a badge of honor for the efforts of the project team and the distinguished partners who contributed to this success.”
